Market Update: The Crypto Bill
The CLARITY Act moved forward in the U.S. Senate Banking Committee. The bill is meant to create clearer rules for crypto in the U.S. This is important because crypto has been stuck in a messy legal gray zone for years.
The big question has always been simple: Is a crypto token a security, a commodity, or something else? If it is a security, the SEC has more control. If it is a commodity, the CFTC has more control. Because this was unclear, companies like Coinbase, token issuers, and crypto platforms had to operate with a lot of legal risk.
The goal of the CLARITY Act is to reduce that uncertainty. It would give the market a clearer framework for who regulates what. It doesn’t make crypto risk-free, but at least it makes the rules easier to understand. And that helps a lot. Because, as I’ve discussed at numerous occasions, markets hate uncertainty more than they hate risk.
But it is important to keep that the CLARITY Act is not law yet. It still has more steps to pass. But the odds of a better regulatory environment improved materially and that should help the entire crypto ecosystem.
It’s been not too long ago since I’ve discussed how Bitcoin is likely close to a bottom and worth paying attention. This news pretty much confirmed that. And many of the crypto-linked stocks are starting to look interesting too. Make sure to check the entire basket, but here are a few highlights worth a look (excluding the miners because many of them are profiting due to the AI infrastructure buildout).
Bitcoin $BTC
Bitcoin has now managed to turnaround. It sits just at the 200 SMA. Reclaiming that level is very important. It would be the first time since November last year.

Circle Internet $CRCL
Circle Internet creates USDC, a digital dollar built to move money faster on blockchains. And more crypto activity usually means more demand for USDC, which is used for trading, payments, and moving money between crypto platforms.

Figure Technologies $FIGR
Figure Technology uses blockchain to make loans and financial assets faster, cheaper, and easier to manage. And the CLARITY will likely make investors more interested in blockchain-based finance, tokenized assets, and on-chain lending.

Hyperliquid Strategies $PURR
Hyperliquid Strategies gives stock-market investors exposure to Hyperliquid, one of the fastest-growing crypto trading ecosystems, and its HYPE token. HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, a fast blockchain and decentralized trading platform mainly used for crypto derivatives trading.

Microstrategy $MSTR
Strategy is just a public market proxy for Bitcoin, giving investors stock-based exposure to Bitcoin through its massive Bitcoin holdings. So, not surprisingly its moves are highly correlated to it.

Coinbase $COIN
Coinbase is one of the largest crypto exchanges. Of course, if crypto is up because more people trade, buy, sell, stake, and use crypto, which increases Coinbase’s trading fees, custody revenue, and platform activity.
