Initiated 2 New Positions

Today I opened two new positions.

Both held up insanely well during the sell off. I always try to focus on the names that correct the least, because those are usually the ones that lead when the correction ends. These two are perfect examples.

They are already hitting new all time highs or 52 week highs and breaking out before the general market. They’ve been on the watch list for a while. Both are leaders in their respective markets and they are growing fast and profitably.

1. $NU Nu Holdings

Nu Holdings is one of the fastest growing digital financial platforms in Latin America.

The company operates in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, with more than 100M customers across its ecosystem. The growth is mainly driven by a low-cost digital model, a clean user interface, and a broad product suite inside a single app.

Its core advantage is capital efficiency.

Customer acquisition costs are low because much of the growth comes from referrals and organic adoption. Operating costs are low because the business has no branch network, no legacy systems, and everything is optimized to its core.

Nu entered markets where traditional banks often charge high fees and offer slow service. By offering a free account, instant onboarding, and a simple card, Nu positioned itself as a modern alternative. With growing trust and high engagement, the company has expanded into credit, savings, insurance, investments, and small business services. Which in turn increases the lifetime value of each customer.

The geographic opportunity is large.

Brazil remains the anchor market with strong penetration, but Mexico is now the main growth engine and is scaling faster than Brazil did at the same stage. Colombia is still early but adds additional optionality.

In short, Nu is building a financial platform that people actually like. And in banking that almost never happens. When you have brand love, low churn, huge scale, and tons of cross-sell, the flywheel becomes very hard to stop.

Nu is building a large digital bank with a lean cost structure and a broad product portfolio on top of it. And the bigger it grows, the more data it collects, better its systems become. And even with all that growth it is still at a reasonable 30 PE.

2. $TMDX TransMedics

TransMedics’ core product is the Organ Care System, often called OCS.

It is a portable platform that keeps organs alive and functioning outside the human body. Instead of storing organs on ice, OCS keeps them warm, perfused, and actively monitored.

Many organs never reach a patient because they cannot be transported safely or evaluated properly. OCS expands the usable donor pool by allowing more time for transport, more detailed assessment, and more flexibility for matching. This leads to more transplants per donor and better outcomes for recipients.

TransMedics moved from a hardware-only model to a full service model. It handles the entire process: donor logistics, organ retrieval, transport, and coordination. Hospitals pay for the service instead of running the process themselves.
