The Future of Energy
In A Nutshell
The world’s need for electricity is growing quickly.
Artificial intelligence is a big reason for this. AI requires a lot of computing power, so data centers are using more and more energy every year. By 2030 data centers could use as much electricity as an entire country like Japan.
This big increase in energy use is making people look for reliable and clean ways to make more electricity. Nuclear energy is getting a lot of attention because it can produce a large amount of power all the time, day and night, without creating carbon emissions. This is important because AI and data centers need a steady supply of electricity that does not depend on the weather.
New technology is also making nuclear energy safer and more flexible. For example, small modular reactors are being developed that can be built faster and placed closer to where the energy is needed, for example near large data centers.
AI is also helping nuclear plants run better. It can look at huge amounts of data from the plant, spot problems early, plan maintenance, and make the plant work more efficiently.
There are still some challenges, like the high cost and long time it takes to build nuclear plants, as well as strict regulations. Even so, because energy demand is going up so fast, especially due to AI, more countries and companies are considering nuclear power as an alternative solution.
